Profile

B.A. Columbia College Chicago
TEFL Certificate, TEFL Institute of Chicago

I have a huge interest in language, travel, and cultural anthropology. One of my dreams is to work for the State Department as a public diplomacy FSO and spend my life traveling the world, involved with cultural understanding and exchange on a daily basis. I would like to attend a graduate studies program for Brazilian/Portuguese Studies, or something TESOL and Linguistics relate.

I am most interested in studying linguistics and national identity, language acquisition, rhetoric, post-colonial studies, and other cultural theory. Specific regional interests are Brazil, Portugal, Latin America, China, France and the Francophone world.

My Grad School Wish List

  • Brown University - Portuguese and Brazilian Studies, Ph.D.
  • George Washington University - International Affairs, M.A.
  • University of Illinois at Chicago - Linguistics (TESOL), M.A.
  • University of Chicago - Latin American Studies, M.A.
  • Georgetown University - Latin American Studies, M.A.
  • University of Wisconsin-Madison - Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies, M.A.
  • UC Berkeley - Latin American Studies, M.A.
  • UMass Dartmouth - Luso-Afro Brazilian Theory Studies, Ph.D.
  • Dartmouth - Liberal Studies (Globalization), M.A.
